Vacancy – Driver & Support Maintenance Officer

An opportunity has arisen for a Driver & support Maintenance Officer to join the team at Tetbury Hospital
on a Permanent, part time basis – 20 hours per week.

The Opportunity
As the Trust’s Driver & Support Maintenance officer you will play a key role within the hospital team. Your primary role will be to deliver the Trusts (non- patient) transport service. You will be required to transport equipment and other packages to local destinations, predominately around the county of Gloucestershire.

When you are not scheduled for transportation duties, you will support the maintenance officer, assisting with general building maintenance and external seasonal work.


The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• A good basic education
• Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work, manual handling, COSHH regulations and risk assessments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional flexible approach to work
• Good problem solving time management and planning skills
• The ability to work well as part of a team and independently

Previous experience of working in a driving and / or maintenance role would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided.

A full current UK Driving licence is a requirement for this role.

The role does require flexible working and may include some Saturday working.


The Package
We can offer flexible hours up to 20 hours per week, with an hourly pay rate of between £9.16 - £9.87 P/ hr, A pay award is pending for this role. This role is a Grade O (NHS Band 2 equivalent). The Hospital offers staff benefits which include pension scheme (continuation in the NHS pension is possible subject to pension rules) and a starting full-time holiday entitlement of 25 days holiday (plus Bank holidays).
