Mr Anand has extensive and wide experience in ophthalmology. He is a cataract surgery and glaucoma specialist at Cheltenham General Hospital where he performs complex glaucoma surgeries. He is an experienced high volume cataract surgeon and performs over 1500 cataract surgeries every year.

Mr Anand has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist, in the NHS since 1998, initially at Luton until 2001 and then at Huddersfield and Halifax until 2014. He is a Registrar at Leeds and Senior Registrar at Birmingham and a Fellow in Glaucoma at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, USA. 

Mr Anand has published extensively on glaucoma and glaucoma surgery with over 50 original manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and was an investigator in a pivotal multicentre trial on glaucoma treatment. He is an International expert on non-penetrating glaucoma surgery and was a technical advisor to NICE on glaucoma surgery for three years until 2011. 

Mr Anand was awarded the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
